The Winter Garden 100 continued its impactful work in the third quarter of 2024 with another inspiring meeting! This time, the focus was on organizations dedicated to preserving our natural environment and educating our community about the importance of conservation.
Three outstanding local groups shared their knowledge and passion with our members:
- Friends of Lake Apopka: Dedicated to restoring the health and beauty of Lake Apopka, a vital part of our local ecosystem.
- Oakland Nature Preserve: Providing environmental education and ecotourism opportunities while preserving 150 acres of natural land.
- Orange Audubon Nature Center: Promoting conservation and appreciation of birds, wildlife, and their habitats through education and advocacy.
A Focus on Education and Engagement
This quarter’s presentations were all about sharing information and sparking a deeper understanding of our local environment. The engaging discussion that followed demonstrated the passion our members have for protecting the natural beauty of Winter Garden.
